Definition of Non-Conformance Manager
The NCR manager role can vary enormously, depending on the size and complexity of the project, as well as the way in which the project is organised. The role could be:
- based on the Quality management role;
- based on engineering /construction management roles;
- based on the Project management role - possibly combined with the project change control and/or interface management processes.
The NCR manager is likely to be responsible for ensuring that the NonConformance management process functions effectively, and that all necessary guidance and training is available to all users.
On a large project, the NCR manager might have additional coordinators working on the team.
The NCR manager will also usually be responsible for the software systems on which the process functions. They may or may not be expected to know how to specify, set up or modify the software system.
We consider that when the project management processes (NCR / interface / change) are managed in one central group that the greatest value can be added for the project.
